Kealkill Parklands

The Kealkill Parklands near Carriganass Castle, just out of Kealkill on the R584, is an enclosed area where families can stretch their legs and enjoy a picnic. The parkland includes an open air gym, a 1.1km loop walk and a trail of fairy houses.

There are delightful things to discover on the walk including the whimsical fairy houses, little bridges spanning small streams and a bamboo tunnel to run through.

Well done to the team who worked so hard to put the Kealkill Parklands together in the first place.

Also at the parklands is a lovely tree memorial section known as O’Connor’s Wood. The initiative lets people buy a tree for €50 which will include a personalised tree tag and a certificate of ownership identifying the tree. All proceeds are in aid of the Kealkill Parkland Development. A personalised tree in the woods makes a great gift idea for a great wedding, anniversary or memorial.
