From next month, the days will start getting shorter and the weather sharper – so make the most of the last of the Indian summer by getting out and doing something fun with the family.
There are three lovely events on this weekend and all promise to be entertaining:
The Macroom Food Festival has a great line up for the weekend – from food tasting demos, music and busking competitions to puppet shows, cook-offs and street entertainment. There will be a Kids Zone with a carousel, face painting and jugglers. For a full programme of festival events, click here . or visit www.macroomfoodfestival.com
In Clonakilty, the Funday Sunday Event organised by the Parents Association of
Scoil na mBuachailli looks like a worthy cause to support. The amount of planning and effort that goes into thinking up something as original as this certainly deserves support. Admission is €5 per adult, €3 per child and €20 per family.
Baltimore is taking part in the The Irish Heart Foundation Walking Weekend and there are numerous trails organised of varying grades – there will be something to suit every stamina. For a full list of what is included in the walks, click here. The walks which are planned on Sherkin Island are always a great choice with kiddies as the ferry ride in itself is a great adventure.
