“Young adult Sustainability Programme in the Spanish Pyrennees -pretty much for free!
Irish residents aged 18 to 25 years can apply to The Hollies Centre for Practical Sustainability to spend a week with young people in a well established eco-viilage in the Basque Country (Spain) together with other young adults from Spain and Portugal.
This event will take place October 27 to November 4th 2012. This programme is funded by the European Commission under their Youth in Action program and participants will only have to pay 30% of their travel cost (about €100). Participants will get hands-on experience with the day to day running of an eco village including activities like organic gardening and animal husbandry, reforesting the surrounding part of the Pyrenees, preserve making and home-brewing as well as running a commercial wood-fired bakery.
The group of around 30 young people will also experience living incommunity and learning from each other in a multi-cultural setting.
