I was quite concerned really, about the human race as a whole today! I can not believe how many jokes are circulating about Japan both on text messages and twitter. Shocking really that people on solid ground can be so flippant about the heartache and tragedy of others.
Ireland’s Taoiseach, Enda Kenny (sounds so different!) has stated that Ireland is at the ready to help Japan in any way possible. Mr Enda Kenny sent the message to the Japanese Prime Minister, Naoto Kan, expressing Ireland’s sympathy and concern.
Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said none of the estimated 2,000 Irish people in the Asian country have been reported injured in the massive quake. A support centre has now been set up by the DFA in Dublin for concerned friends and relatives especially in the recent wake of the 12 powerful aftershocks, the tsunami and the the nuclear reactor explosions.
